The Ferrari that everyone wants but without paying the price.
Being a health and wellness life coach allows me to stay in tune with myself, to remain a positive role model for others, and to be an individual who lives with integrity, aligned with my values and convictions. I love helping my clients reach their health goals despite the obstacles they face.
I leverage my life, athletic, and professional experience to guide my clients toward improving their quality of life and achieving their goals as quickly as possible. By the end of their journey, my aim is for them to feel proud of their accomplishments—just like someone who proudly drives their Ferrari. Of course, the Ferrari I’m referring to is merely a metaphor for the necessary qualities required to achieve great things.
In short, everyone would love to ride in a prestigious, highly desired vehicle. It’s the Ferrari that everyone wants but without paying the price. This Ferrari represents an exclusive status. Behind that status are specific, well-defined qualities that make a person destined for success.
- First, there is self-confidence—an unwavering belief where character acts as the hands on the steering wheel.
- Next, there is effort—the force that maintains mental, physical, and spiritual focus to navigate efficiently toward one’s vision.
- Then, there is commitment—a personal pledge to stay on course despite adversity.
This commitment is, in reality, a promise made to one’s soul, and it can be painful on different levels. There is pressure in executing details, in the speed at which behavioral changes must be applied, in the intensity required to achieve desired results, in the organization needed to be effective, and in the fighting spirit necessary to counter pessimistic attitudes from all directions.
Beyond this, maintaining discipline is crucial in continuing to apply these elements, despite fluctuating emotions that can often be detrimental. Finally, there is faith—the belief that we are worthy of completing our journey and receiving the honors we deserve. It’s important to recognize oneself first before knowing which path to take in personal development.
Ultimately, it is only through these qualities that success in any endeavor is guaranteed. It is the spiritual decision to transform one’s life. It is the moment one feels that inner energy saying: “Victory! I am who I have always wanted to be, and I have recreated myself according to my vision.” It’s the subtle smile of someone confidently driving their Ferrari.
A Story from My Virtual Office
I have a story to share. The real name of the individual will remain anonymous. However, for some of you, her reality might resonate deeply. Let me introduce you to the inspiring journey of Mélanie.
Mélanie dared to take the difficult road toward her health and wellness goals.
I met Mélanie in my virtual office. She booked a consultation with me after browsing the transformation “before-and-after” page of @bio3fitness. She has been a high school social worker for over 10 years, passionate about helping struggling youth with their academic journey. She mentioned that the school environment has become much more demanding since the beginning of her career. The challenges in this field are overwhelming, leaving professionals feeling drained.
Despite her workload and an active social life, Mélanie wanted to take the time to invest in her health. Like many of her food-loving friends, she suffers from moderate obesity, which affects her overall health and quality of life. Her doctor even advised her to consider bariatric surgery to avoid further health risks. Many of her friends had undergone the surgery after multiple failed attempts with extreme weight loss programs. Unsurprisingly, these drastic dieting methods were unsustainable in the medium and long term.
Mélanie’s friends encouraged her to get the surgery, as they were now satisfied with the weight loss results they could not have achieved alone.
Looking back, Mélanie recalled a time when she and her friends had hired a group fitness trainer. However, she had to quit because large-group training sessions didn’t align with her physical limitations. She was happy for her friends’ success but wanted to make one last attempt before resorting to surgery.
Her past weight loss struggles had left her feeling discouraged, further lowering her already fragile self-esteem. Her emotions fluctuated constantly. She needed direction to stay focused and turn her goals into reality.
With our help, she was ready to take her last chance to lose weight and permanently change her lifestyle. She was willing to pay the price, making all necessary sacrifices and efforts to succeed. Her goal was to lose 60 lbs, with an initial plan to shed 30 lbs in three months. If she failed, surgery would be her last resort, as time was running out and her health was at stake.
I must admit, her story deeply moved me and put me in solution mode—simple and effective. I had to act swiftly and precisely. Mélanie’s health was in a critical state, and our guidance was her last option.
I thought carefully about the solutions that would best ensure her success, considering the demands of her job, her emotional struggles, and her physical limitations due to obesity.
My Recommendation for Mélanie
-
Weekly coaching sessions to keep her mindset aligned with clear instructions and high motivation. I requested her doctor’s contact information so we could work as a team. Our goal was a weight loss of 2.5 lbs per week. In our sessions, I would track her weight loss progress, motivation levels, weekly challenges, and emotional state.
-
A full physical assessment by my team, using the SOAPI note method. This way, all professionals in our team would have the necessary information to guide Mélanie effectively during her workouts and transformation.
-
Semi-private training sessions three times a week, combined with low-intensity cardio workouts for the first month to allow her mind and body to adapt. After the first month, the frequency would increase to four sessions per week to maximize results.
-
A lifestyle-based nutritional plan, created by our naturopath, to help Mélanie learn how to make healthy food choices in any social situation. Once she approved the action plan, we would implement it.
Mélanie would be monitored by me as her coach, our naturopath, our kinesiologists, and her doctor. She accepted the plan and committed to it. She was moved by the support we were about to provide. She felt confident about achieving her goal and transforming her life for the better.
On our side, we felt honored and motivated to play a role in making a difference in Mélanie’s life. It is health-focused projects like these that fuel our passion and remind us why we love our work so much.
This was Phase 1 of Mélanie’s transformation. 3,2,1… Go!
What will be your inspiring story that will push you to say:
“I will change my health at all costs!”
